The Enterprise dish is for power users or businesses, it comes with a larger high power dish more suitable for workplaces. These need to be installed by a technician, and are usually connected into a Comms cabinet with your network infrastructure. These can be installed without a monthly plan active to be used as a backup or contingency connection incase your main connection goes down. Much like a failover solution.
For maritime boats and vessels, there are panel dish’s with flat mounts to handle more adverse conditions such vibrations from travel or water and dust. Make sure you are getting the right dish for the application.
The Starlink dish comes with either a 4 leg floor mount or a tilting leg that you can use to sit on the ground. For permanent installs you will need either a roof mount kit, or a wall mount kit. When ordering have a look at a possible install location and get the mount that will suit the location.
Please be aware that some of the mounts available from Starlink are not suitable for NZ roofs, consult with us before purchasing mounts for our advice on your selected choice.
Mounting the actuated dish with its provided 4-leg mount onto a roof angle pitch is not advised. Mounting the dish on an angle causes the motor to burn out due to realigning issues. When the dish rotates or pitches the dish to point towards a satellite and the mount is on an angle, the dish spends more time trying to move to the direction as the motors are not level. When the motor burns out or has an issue trying to realign, it shuts off causing you to lose your connection.
We can supply roof mounts included in our install that will best fit your install location.
The V4 Router comes with 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports, so if you have more than 2 hardwired devices you will need to get a network switch to add capacity for example cameras, NAS drives, PCs, Gaming Consoles or airbridges to other buildings. Let us know, and we can accommodate for this.
If you are running a business off Starlink, you will need a security grade router to protect your infrastructure. This is an added layer of security to better protect your network rather than relying on the Starlink router.
If your house is two stories, or if your dish install location is likely to be more than 14m from your router install location you may need to consider getting the extended cable. You can purchase this with your dish separately
To get the most out of your Starlink dish, they need to be installed up high away from vertical obstructions. Trees, house features, and overhead structures can interfere with your connection. We perform the Sky Scan in the App to best determine if the install location will work.
